My first experience of natural therapies was visiting a local herbalist as child, she would mix tinctures for me that had an unusual taste but worked for my ailments. I loved visiting her clinic, the smell of the herbs and watching her mix various liquids and powders. Health has always been my passion and I knew this was the area I wanted to work in.

After deciding as a teenager that I wanted to study naturopathy, I ended up completing my nursing degree instead. I have worked as a registered nurse for over 25 years in lots of different areas and roles: .critical care, paediatrics, medical, surgical, emergency and theatres. I have had roles working clinically, in education and management. I also completed a research degree looking at consent in health care and have had stints as a university marker. During this time I have learned the value of broad clinical knowledge, listening to people and applying healthcare to the individual.

After many years of starting and stopping again, I finally completed my degree in Naturopathy and now combine both the western health approach with the wisdom of traditional medicine, incorporating evidence based practice with traditional knowledge. I am passionate about helping people restore and maintain their health and use a variety of modalities in my practice including herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, dietary assistance and lifestyle interventions.
